Film Limerick FilmTrack 'Meet The Festivals' Panel Discussion

Thinking back to August 2024, I’m still buzzing from being part of the very first FilmTrack event in Limerick, thanks to Film in Limerick and Innovate Limerick. As someone who loves indie filmmaking and the creative scene here, it was such a thrill to sit on a panel with some seriously inspiring people.
I got to chat alongside Grainne Humphries from the Dublin International Film Festival and film journalist Wendy Mitchell, with Jim Kolmar from SXSW keeping the conversation lively as our moderator. We talked about what’s happening in indie film right now, swapped ideas for up-and-coming filmmakers, and shared what makes events like FilmTrack so special for Limerick and beyond.
The weekend itself (August 23rd–25th) was packed with screenings, talks, and competitions—a real playground for filmmakers at every stage. Meeting local talent and being part of those big-picture conversations about the future of film here was a real highlight for me.
All in all, it was an inspiring, creative weekend, and I’m so glad I got to be a part of it. Here’s to more events like FilmTrack in the future!
