LET’S PAINT GALWAY RED

A large crowd joined Hellocamera at this year’s Galway Film Fleadh to get a in-depth look at the new RED camera. Ben Foakes from Sequence Training (Pinewood studios) delivered the workshop. Subjects such as pre-production, on location with the Red camera and post-production with Final Cut Pro were covered - from
choosing the right tapeless format to deliverables. The workshop was co-hosted with Galmac. To find out more about Ben and his company click on    http://www.sequence-post.co.uk

Hello Camera has been chosen to produce the latest work of filmmaker Nicky Larkin. The working title of the project is “Dead Cats” and it will tell the story of once successful businessmen trying to cope in recessionary Ireland. Nicky has exhibited widely across Ireland and the UK with video installations and sound-pieces, and recently began to exhibit internationally. Samples of the director’s style of extremely long takes with very little editing can be viewed at http://www.nickylarkin.com

After a successful summer in 2008, Reel World came back to the midlands again in 2009 and ran a successful season of courses. The course is broken down into 3 areas: story-creations, shooting the film and editing the film - including uploading the finished movie onto the web. The course will run again in 2010 and will expand into other midland towns.  Download the 2009 flyer here.
